Halloween sticker DIY- Grusel-Anstecker

Todays fiddle friday is spooky again. In a video made by the die cut company ‚Spellbinders“ I recently saw a really cool idea how to make small party decorations. I transformed them into fun stickers, that can match any occasion. For more English please scroll down.

Huhu!

Last tuesdays the adorable Ken Oliver and his uber-creative and cute colleague Giuseppina Cirincione, called Josie, showed how to play with the new hatpins from Spellbinders. Josie made a sweet and charming gnome home, and Ken made some cool bats from some die cut shapes. For the bats you may watch the video right from the moment where Ken started: Click!

Kens spooky idea made me play with my own die cuts. I made some quick and fun bats, and had fun with some picture. Guess who is who?

Ken used some ovals he has cut in half. I don’t have such ovals, so I used my poinsetta die that I have bought last year and rarely used. Now its time for some poinsetta fun! For an upcoming stamp show next weekend I made some cute stickers to trade with my stamping friends.

To start with the polymer clay pins follow the manufacturers instructions. You will have to soften it first (do not use your die cut machine for this! I tried and failed. It was an ugly mess)

When the clay is soft, use a small amount to press it into your die.

I made one leaf at a time, that turned out to be much easier than the whole flower. The size of the bat depends on the size of the leaf you have chosen.

Carefully take the clay from the die. Put on a wax paper and store in a freezer for 5-10 minutes. This will stiffen the clay for better cutting. Cut off all of the excess around the die shape. Cut leaf in half and form a bat.

Form a drop shape with clay and add to the bat wings. Carefully press the die on the body of the bat for extra structure, form the wings as you wish.

For more shimmer, add some pearl ex or glitter to the clay before baking it. If you are pleased with the result, bake the clay according to the instructions given with the product.

After baking the sticker, I added some rhinestones for the bat eyes and finished the pieces with glitter nail polish.

Attach a pin to the back to finish the sticker as a gift for a good friend. I hope you like it!
