Welcome to my first layout for the challengeblog ‚sketchabilities‚. After I got the permission to participate the creative mind behind sketchabilities, Karan Gerber, gave her team some amazing sketches to play with. For more English please scroll down, thank you.

This months first challenge asked for the following sketch. I like the mixture of elements like the tabs and the leafs. I printed it to check it even now and then while working in my craft room.

This is what I made with it. Das habe ich dann damit angestellt.

What I wanted to achieve with this particular sketch was something I had in mind for ages! When I ran a stamp shop back in 2000, customers kept asking me what colors they can use to color their stamp images. I told them ‚everything that stains/colors

Keep in mind that ALL colors have the same incredient for make them color: pigments. Some are dissolved in water, others in alcohol or something else, but you can say ’no pigment, no color‘.

That means you can use really everything to paint, die or color your paper, stamp images or even photographs. The only thing you have to care is how the paint soaks, dries or reacts with your surface.

Thats why I used something from my hoard: Nailpolish! I dripped and splattered, poured and painted. One of the polishes waited for me to do that for over a decade!

To ‚move‘ the nailpolish a bit I used a ‚blow tool‘ everyone has on the desk: A ball pen. I used the tip and blew the polish over the paper. The drips have been made with a good amount of polish running down the paper.
As I did before, I followed the sketch as close as I could! Thats why I added leafs and a paper doily to the layout. For the leafs I have cut some glossy paper with a Spellbinders die, the doily was painted with my red nailpolish.

See the buttons? Painted with nailpolish too to make them match. The small flower was cut with Spellbinders from a soda can and painted. Yeah…nailpolish.

The sketch asked for a title and some text. I used some clear plastic lids from an old cottage cheese pot and some red foil for that. See the ‚PET‘ sign? This is the type of plastic and tells the recycling company how to reuse it. Well… I was first! Reused it here.

The whole layout was so much fun! Thank you Karan, for this great inspiration!
Das ganze Layout hat großen Spaß gemacht! Danke liebe Karan, für die tolle Vorlage.
