Stepping into a new world is no walk in the park. When I made my way into 2014s team of ICE resin, I knew this will be a challenge.
I have so much to say about ICE resin, and I do not want to bore you today. Just saying that I am thankful and my mind feels like exploding with ideas never could have become true without that simple but amazing kind of resin.
Here is my first piece of jewellery for the team. The announcement of the team was published last december, please excuse me for beeing so late, christmas has been all for the family and the weeks that followed have been a breathless try to catch up.
Heute zeige ich euch mein erstes Werk mit ICE resin. Ich muss euch ein andermal ausführlicher darüber berichten, denn die Hintergrundstory füllt Bände. Ich hatte das große Glück in das Team von Susan Lenart Kazmer aufgenommen zu werden. Ich gestalte nun Seite an Seite mit internationalen Schmuck- und MixedMedia-Künstlern, was nicht nur eine Herausforderung ist, sondern auch ein wenig angsteinflössend. Ja, auch so coole Socken wie ich haben manchmal Schiss inne Büx.
| One thing I really love is the fact that ICE resin can make delicate materials so sturdy. This was a kind of missing link for me: Between soft and weak things like paper or fabric and the need to use hard materials for jewellery making.
For this bracelet I used a paper flowers made from an old book plus some embossed metal scraps.
Before the resin coat was dry I added some glitter and rhinestones, the resin worked as a strong ‚glue‘ and my embellishments are safe and will never some off. |
Eine Sache, die ich an ICE resin so liebe, ist der Umstand, dass es in der Lage ist hauchzarte Materialien so zu verfestigen, dass sie problemlos für die Herstellung stabiler Schmuckelemente dienen können.
Für das Armband habe ich eine Papierblume aus einem alten Buch gefertigt und geprägte Metallreste hinzugefügt.
Noch bevor das ICE resin ausgehärtet ist, habe ich Glitzer und Strassteine aufgelegt, dann funktioniert das resin wie eine Art Kleber der alles gnadenlos festhält. Ein Traum wurde wahr! |
